ISM Continues Support of South American Entrepreneurs
TROY, MICHIGAN, [March 17, 2023] – Maria Pereira, Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Program Participant from Brazil is partnering with International Strategic Management Inc. (ISM) in Troy, MI through the U.S. Department of State’s YLAI Fellowship Program.
An emerging entrepreneurial leader, Maria is completing a 4-week professional fellowship at ISM, collaborating on mutually beneficial projects and finding a solution to business challenge action plans they will undertake upon their return to Brazil. Maria’s focus will be on assisting in branding, marketing, and undertaking a special 20th anniversary report.
“We are honored to host such great entrepreneurs from Central and South America,” says Faris Alami. “There is great benefit for both sides. They gain insight into U.S. business practices and the ISM Team, and we learn more about entrepreneurship and small business ownership in other countries.”
YLAI is the U.S. Department of State’s flagship program for emerging entrepreneurs and business leaders from the Caribbean, Canada, Central and South America. Designed to promote mutual understanding and build a network of young business and social entrepreneurs, the program brings young leaders to the U.S. for entrepreneurial leadership training and fellowships with U.S. companies and social enterprises. The program concludes with a Closing Forum in Washington, D.C. Fellows return to their ventures with new skills, resources, ongoing support from U.S. counterparts, and a broader network, strengthening business ties between the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere and advancing inclusive prosperity in the region.
The YLAI Fellowship Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and implemented in 2023 by IREX.
