TROY, MICHIGAN, August 1, 2021 – Faris Alami, Founder and CEO of Detroit-based International Strategic Management, Inc. (ISM), was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association in Michigan, effective July 1, 2021.

“It’s an honor to join the board of the American Lung Association in Michigan and help support the organization in its mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease,” Alami said, “I am committed to building increased support for the programs and services of the Lung Association which are so important to our community and align so closely with ISM’s core values.”

His insight and experience with ISM will help us in our mission to raise awareness for lung disease in Michigan, reduce smoking rates and ensure that we all have clean air to breathe,” said Maureen Rovas, Executive Director for the Lung Association. “Thanks to the service of Faris and our other Local Leadership Board Members, we are helping Michigan residents breathe a little easier.”

The Lung Association’s Local Leadership Board of Directors, which has 14 members, helps lead the organization in its mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. The purpose of the Board is to raise the Lung Association’s profile in the community, advocate for lung health, and increase resources to fund local programs and services. Board members impact the work of the Association’s programs and services, public policy, research, and revenue generation.

Alami has more than 30 years of experience working with international leaders and entrepreneurs on strategies and implementations to create an empowering environment for startups and businesses to

prosper and grow. An active member in the community, he founded ISM in 1991 and Connecting Dots Globally, a non-profit STEMprenuerer program in which high school and university students learn to launch a global technology company in 2020. He also has made a point to give back to others through involvement in many organizations. His roles have ranged from advisory board member to active and involved participant. Some of those organizations include GlobalTies Detroit, Leadership Oakland, and the Center For The Study Of Citizenship at Wayne State University.
