Edens Food Pte Ltd
Economic uncertainty also a nest bed for innovation and reinvention
Bold new Shiitake Mushroom snacks started by two young entrepreneurs saw over 50,000 packets sold in less than one year.
Edens is a startup that offers healthier snacking alternatives. It was started by two young entrepreneurs - Crystal Cheng and Joshua Chan - who are former students of Singapore Management University. The brand was launched in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic as the founders recognized untapped opportunities such as the resilience budget offered by the government, SGUNITED Traineeship, which reduced the overhead of hiring, and people becoming more health-conscious and seeking healthier snacking options.
The team works closely with the Movement of Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). Every online order made is quality checked and packed by the teams at MINDS.
Each 75g packet of Edens Chips is low in calories (approximately 300 calories), contains no trans fat, low in cholesterol, and rich in protein.
They are currently retailing at $8.50 to $9.90 for a single packet. Products can be found at www.edenschips.com and Shopee, Lazada, RedMart, and more. The brand has recently entered a few brick-and-mortar stores including Cheers, Fairprice Xpress, Ryan Groceries, and other boutique cafes.
